Each mushroom species collected by Paul Stamets from the old growth forests of the Pacific Northwest is sustainably harvested. The ecosystem remains intact and unharmed. We carefully culture the mycelium for the Host Defense products on the Fungi Perfecti Farm in a way that maintains the lowest P Value possible. This creates identical genetic matches to the mycelium found in their native habitats, ensuring the provenance and genetic vitality of each strain. Found growing in temperate hardwood forests, Maitake (Japanese for "the Dancing Mushroom") has been the subject of studies worldwide and is known for supporting normal cell growth. Rich in 1,3 1,4 and 1,6 beta-D glucans, Maitake is a delicious, edible species, with a long history of traditional use.
